Sioux Falls is a rapidly growing community which does not seem to be slowing anytime soon. So my answer to you on which side of town is the best, I would have to say it depends on what is it you are looking for in your surrounding community? The east side of town is continuing to grow and has a promising future when it comes to getting the commercial industry it needs. Sioux Falls has been placing a lot of its interest over there the last couple of years. They announced last spring plans to build a complete “City with-in a city”, a gated community with shopping, entertainment and residential areas. If that interests you then I would say, “The east side of town is for you!” The south side of town offers you a lot of your newer neighborhoods, schools and golf courses. This side of town has more of a country feel, about 10 min from your main shopping and dining area of town, very nice area to raise a family. If that interests you then I would say, “The south side of town is for you!” The west side of town is also growing like crazy. There you will find a huge growth spurt really gaining speed with-in a year or so. We already have residential growth now, and then commercial building will start. We have a brand new YMCA (just opened this year) on this side, along with great colleges. If that interests you then I would say, “The west side of town is for you!” The heart of Sioux Falls offers all one will need for shopping, dining and entertainment. We have some beautiful historic apartments, lofts and condo’s downtown along with the Sioux Fall’s fall. This would be great if you were looking to retire and enjoy your days with peace of mind. The north side of town is growing yet at a slower pace then the rest of the city. It is more of your industrial side; it is hard to say what is all in store for this side of town in the near future. There are a lot of proposals in front of the city council and there will be public voting to determine the amount of growth that the north side is going to forgo in the next 5 years. I would keep an eye on Sioux Falls news articles and check in with the city websites to learn more on this. Hope this helps you to learn a little more about Sioux Falls, SD.
